The upgrade of gear can increase its base stats, and sometimes enhances its extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the amount of random augmentations used.

The racial Shield elite Razortail for instance, is often upgraded to increase its lightning absorption capabilities in PvP and/or add additional defenses to missile-based build in the PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the un-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens allow you to reroll an item you have acquired like an armor, weapon, or rings. This swaps the current item for one of the same type with an additional set of bonuses. Reroll tokens are a cost-effective method of upgrading gear. They don't maintain the original level of the item and any money wasted won't get compensated.

Reroll tokens can be obtained by survivors via a variety of methods like the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can also be found in chests and crates or purchase them at the market for $150 each. Reroll tokens can be used to change an attribute of a piece of equipment, such as increasing its damage or giving it a new stat.

Players can roll equipment with three attributes, physical power, spell power and health. Physical power upgrades increase the damage that melee and weapons, while spell power upgrades mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades give the player an extra health.

Three types of rerolls tokens are available such as upgrade rare, legendary and rare. Each upgrade elevates the item to higher quality. To produce them, you require a higher-quality reroll token. Upgrades require a standard item. Rare upgrades require an item that is exclusive or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.

In contrast to other special tokens and markers placed on Action spaces the reroll marker stays in the space until the next Success result is repeated. This helps to prevent the waste of upgrades.

Blueprints are envelopes that show up at the beginning of every preparation phase. They can be opened with Interact by grabbing on to them. When they are opened, they will display a description and icon for the appliance or ingredient. Blueprints can be exchanged for a new Appliance or Ingredient in the restaurant's shop for a small amount of coins.

During the course of the course of a game, blueprints can be transferred between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool due to selected Franchise Cards. This alters the kind of blueprints that a restaurant's shop offers for rerolls and which are available in the Non-droppable Pool.

Growthstones

Weapons such as armor, weapons, and other accessories can be upgraded in Throne and Liberty using Growth Stones. Rare (blue) rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor only requires one Growth Stone.

Leveling

Leveling is an optional feature that allows players to increase the base stats of weapons armor, helms, and trinkets. It's done by the combination of an item with upgrade components at the Upgrade Station and paying a cost of Happy Stars or Happy Tickets. The upgrade components will be used up and the item will receive a higher level. This process can be repeated until the highest level of an item is reached.

Items with upgraded stats will have an icon of blue next to their slot. Unlike enchantments, however, upgrade components don't stack with each other, but can only be added to one item upgrades at a time. Furthermore, each upgrade component will require a certain number of items to be used and a minimum level for the equipment.

The Upgrade Station comes with two slots: the left is where players can put in an item to be upgraded, and the right slot shows a preview of what the equipment will look like once it is at its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow after a player has sufficient materials will begin the upgrade process.

A piece of equipment can be upgraded up to five times. Each time an item is upgraded, its base stats will increase by a small amount. The highest level for an item is 19.

When an item reaches its maximum level, it will no longer have the option of upgrading. Also, when an item upgrading is on the level of a specific upgrade track (e.g. Veteran or Explorer), upgrades to the track will be offered at a discount.

Upgrade components are a type of equipment that can be put into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to offer an attribute bonus or extra effect while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, looted or obtained by completing quests or traded between players. Upgrade components can be replaced by new ones, but doing so could destroy the previous upgrade, excluding for glyphs, which can be removed and replaced freely.

Requirements

Upgrades to items give players the ability to increase certain stats of weapons and armor that they currently own. The requirements for upgrading an item will differ depending on the type of item, but you'll typically need Dilithium and a number Upgrade tokens.

Item upgrade components can be slotted into equipment set pieces and weapons for added effects or a higher level of the item. These upgrades can come from a variety of sources, such as crafting, buying from the Trading Post, karma vendors or looting from raids and bosses. Once an upgrade element is placed in an item it isn't able to be removed or replaced freely, however, the glyphs that are used in gathering tools can be swapped without restriction.

Upgrades can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity. Some upgrade components also have additional modifiers that can increase the item's statistics.

For example, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" improves base defense, and also gives an additional 20% chance to block. The dps "Wildfire" on the other hand increases damage to weapons.

Some items benefit from being upgraded not so much for their improved stats, but more because it allows players to gain the maximum amount of value from a perfect roll on the item. For instance, a perfectly rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly sought-after in the melee PvP community and could be worth 20-50x more than the non-upp'd version.

The game will display the requirements once you choose the upgrade component to be incorporated into the item. The game will show the requirements required when you select an upgrade component to slot into an item.
